02/19/21 - Notable Meals! Make-Up VDAY Date

Since I was gone for me and my partners V-DAY date, this was our chance to make it up! So we went out for a, amazing in car vegan taco date in Santa Monica. We stopped by El Cocinero in Van Nuys, CA. And their meat alternatives are literally close to the real thing I was shocked! My favorite vegan meat they offered was their vegan Chicharrones. It literally had the same crunch, and savory taste as Chicharrones that I was shocked that it was vegan! The tacos in general, were really dry though so I wouldn't order them again.

Their fries were probably my third favorite, if only I had ordered the vegan Chicarrones instead of the mushroom and pastor "meat". Also would've wished they used some form of vegan cheese, because it was off putting eating Mexican taco meat with ketchup and mustard haha.

These "Birria" Tacos, were by far, hands down the best item them have on the menu. Although they were quite expensive. Each taco was a little over 3 dollars! YEESH. But it had the exact same mouth feel as Birria, and the broth also was exactly the same! I still don't know how they do it haha.

We also stopped by Somi Somi , near UCLA, and got us some bread stuffed with cheese!

We ended the night drinking some, alright boba at a hooka/boba bar. It tasted watered down, but the craving for coffee was real. So we were desperate. Maybe once I'm 21 I'll stop by for that Hooka though o.o
