An Issue that I started to develop in plant room was a massive fungus gnat infestation. They would cover Fungus gnat traps by the hundreds, which helped only temporarily as a fungus gnat fly can lay about a hundred eggs. I tried mosquito bits, neem oil, letting plants dry out and even hydrogen peroxide washes, but they always seem to be attracted to the moist soil on freshly watered plants. So I tried to finally bring an end to it.
I bought some mosquito bits, and soaked them in water before bottom watering my plants. Reading up on another blog, Mosquito bit soaks help incorporate the selective microbial insecticide (BTI) into the soil to kill off gnat larvae. Committing to this system has helped me drop the fungus gnat trouble in my house and as of the moment, I don't seem to be bothered by flying bugs in my face.
